We want to inform you about a temporary suspension of rail operations in Eagle Pass and El Paso, Texas, effective December 18, 2023, at 8:00 a.m. local time.

Key Points:

  • Reason: Due to increased migrant encounters at the Southwest Border driven by misinformation spread by smugglers.
  • Action Taken: CBP’s Office of Field Operations will temporarily pause international railway crossing operations to redirect personnel to support the U.S. Border Patrol in apprehending migrants.

Operational Adjustments:

  • Vehicular processing remains suspended at Eagle Pass International Bridge 1.
  • San Ysidro’s Pedestrian West operations in San Diego, California, are on hold.
  • The Lukeville Port of Entry in Lukeville, Arizona, is temporarily closed.

CBP Announces Periodic Monthly Statement Withdrawal Dates for 2024

On December 18, 2023, US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) issued CSMS # 58757744 containing the in Periodic Monthly Statement (PMS) withdrawal dates for 2024. Importers who are approved and participating in the Periodic Monthly Statement program will be required to pay duty on the below dates for shipments entered during the previous calendar month.
