On Tuesday, March 26th, at approximately 1:35 am local time, the Singapore-flagged container vessel Dali, voyage 410W, collided with the Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore, Maryland, affecting both the bridge’s infrastructure and port operations.  The vessel, chartered by Maersk, was carrying export cargo destined to arrive in Colombo, Sri Lanka on April 22nd.

The collission caused a section fo the bridge to collapse into the Patapsco River. This has been declared a mass-casualty incident with approximately 20 individuals and multiple vehicles believed to have fallen into the water. There are ongoing rescue efforts for those involved.

As a result, all vessel traffic at the Port of Baltimore is suspended until further notice. However, truck processing within port terminals continues.
