Preliminary Determination for Antidumping on Aluminum Extrusions: 14 countries

On May 1, 2024, the U.S. Department of Commerce (DOC) announced the affirmative preliminary determination in the antidumping investigation of aluminum extrusions from China, Columbia, Ecuador, India, Indonesia, Italy, South Korea, Malaysia, Mexico, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, and Vietnam. The DOC is also conducting a concurrent countervailing duty investigation on imports of aluminum extrusions from China, Indonesia, Mexico and Turkey. The DOC issued its affirmative preliminary determination on March 5, 2024 for the countervailing investigation.

The antidumping margins range from 0% to over 600% for country/individual specific rates. All rates and case numbers can be found on the Aluminum Extrusions Factsheet. U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) started collecting antidumping cash deposits on May 7, 2024.

With this affirmative preliminary determination, the DOC revised the scope language and included examples for the trade to provide clarity to many of the challenges regarding the broadness of the original scope. The scope can be found at www.federalregister.gov but is pasted below for easy review..
