President Donald Trump confirmed the news in a tweet on Wednesday morning stating, “We will be, by mutual consent, temporarily closing our Northern Border with Canada to non-essential traffic. Trade will not be affected.”
Canada’s prime minister, Justin Trudeau, announced at a press conference that “Supply chains including trucking will not be affected by this new measure.”
