ILWU Canada Update

Earlier this morning, an official statement regarding the ongoing negotiations with International Longshore and Warehouse Union (ILWU) Canada was released. The British Columbia Maritime Employers Association (BCMEA) is actively engaged in productive meetings with ILWU Canada and the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Services (FMCS), aiming to negotiate a mutually beneficial agreement.

It is important to note that the parties have scheduled further meetings beyond the 21-day cooling off period, extending from Thursday, June 22 to Saturday, June 24. We would like to emphasize that the timeline for a potential strike or lockout action remains unchanged, as previously communicated, and available here.
