The Major Harmonized Tariff Schedule Changes <\/a>that were to take place on January 1, 2022, have been postponed until late January. Today, the President issued a Proclamation to Modify the Harmonized Tariff Schedule;<\/a>\u00a0however, the changes will not go into effect until 30 days following the publication of the Presidential Proclamation in the Federal Register which has yet to take place.<\/p>\n

In CSMS Message 50430066<\/a> <\/u>U.S. Customs and Border Protection advised that the changes would not take place on January 1, 2022 and that CBP will continue to use the current harmonized tariff schedule and encourages the trade community to do the same until further guidance is provided.<\/p>\n
