On Monday, April 20, 2020, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) released Cargo System Messaging Service (CSMS) 42429822<\/a> announcing the \u201cInterim Implementation Instructions\u201d for the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA).\u00a0 <\/p>\n

The entry into force date for the USMCA has not been announced, but by law it is supposed to be the first day of the third month subsequent to the last country certifying their preparation.\u00a0 CSMS Message 42429822 provides links to several pieces of information to help importers prepare for the USMCA.\u00a0 The release states, \u201cThese instructions are for advance informational and advisory purposes only.\u00a0 They are not final and are subject to further revision.\u201d<\/p>\n
