On Thursday, March 26, 2020, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) issued Cargo Systems Messaging Service\u00a0CSMS Message 42161666<\/a>\u00a0advising that they are no longer accepting requests for additional days for payment which was announced in\u00a0CSMS 42097586<\/a>. NON-ESSENTIAL TRAFFIC RESTRICTED AT U.S.-MEXICO BORDER<\/a><\/h3>\n

On Friday, March 20, 2020, the United States and Mexico agreed to restrict all non-essential travel across the border in an effort to slow the spread of the coronavirus. U.S. TERMINAL UPDATES<\/a><\/h3>\n

Terminals in the U.S. are canceling work shifts due to the low cargo volumes caused by the coronavirus (COVID-19).\u00a0 There are 111 void sailings from the transpacific carriers between February \u2013 April, which includes 63 sailings during the normal factory closures over the Lunar New Year and 43 sailings due to the disruptions caused by the coronavirus.
