{"id":17494,"date":"2020-01-28T09:30:11","date_gmt":"2020-01-28T15:30:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.miq.com\/?p=16125"},"modified":"2020-01-28T09:30:11","modified_gmt":"2020-01-28T15:30:11","slug":"coronavirus-update","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.noatumlogistics.com\/us\/coronavirus-update\/","title":{"rendered":"Coronavirus Update"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On Monday, January 27, 2020, the China Government announced that the Chinese New Year (CNY) public holiday will be extended through February 2, 2020, (Shanghai, Ningbo, Hangzhou and Suzhou through February 9) as part of their efforts to contain the coronavirus outbreak.\u00a0 Ocean carriers have advised that the ports are operational, but to expect delays and changes to schedules.\u00a0 The following updates were received from ocean carriers on January 28.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Evergreen:<\/p>\n<p>Shanghai and Ningbo authorities announced that the CNY business holiday will be extended through February 9.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>All China booking offices will have staff on standby on-site or via remote access to ensure all operations run smoothly.\u00a0 However, replies may still be delayed.<\/li>\n<li>Currently, terminal ship-side operations are normal except for Wuhan. The feeder service in and out of Wuhan and local terminal operations in Wuhan are both temporarily shut down due to the quarantine. For shipments already in route, they will be idled at T\/S ports until the lockdown is lifted. Meanwhile, we are not instructed to suspend any export bookings destined for Wuhan, but we will keep you posted of any updates.<\/li>\n<li>Evergreen\u2019s current return-to-work schedule is noted below; however, schedules may be modified based on local government announcements.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>China:<\/strong> No earlier than February 3<br \/>\n<strong>Shanghai:<\/strong> No earlier than February 10<br \/>\n<strong>Zhejiang Province<\/strong>: No earlier than February 10 (impact to Ningbo\/Jiaxing)<br \/>\n<strong>\u00a0Jiangsu Province:<\/strong>\u00a0No earlier than February 10\u00a0(impact to Nanjing\/Suzhou)<br \/>\n<strong>Guangdong Province:<\/strong> No earlier than February 10 (impact to Yantian\/Shekou\/Nansha)<br \/>\n<strong>Wuhan:<\/strong> No extended return-to-work date has been set (however, it will not be earlier than\u00a0February 3)<\/p>\n<p>Hapag:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>At this moment, vessels are still maintaining the normal pro-forma rotation and calling ports as scheduled.<\/li>\n<li>There will be the usual delays and labor shortages due to the CNY, with congestion and berthing issues likely to extend over the weekend.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Maersk:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>All Maersk operations including Terminal, Warehousing, Depots, Offices and other facilities except Wuhan continue to operate uninterrupted as usual.<\/li>\n<li>Load\/discharge moves at Wuhan port have been suspended until further notice. Our customer service teams are currently following up on shipment status with respective customers and discussing alternative transport plans.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Air Cargo:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Today the White House is considering imposing travel restrictions on China.<\/li>\n<li>The restrictions could affect flights into and out of China, as well as airports across the U.S., officials said.<\/li>\n<li>Asked about potential travel restrictions, HHS Director, Alex Azar said that \u201cit\u2019s important to not take anything off the table.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>Please see full news update at CNBC: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2020\/01\/28\/white-house-discussing-china-travel-restrictions-amid-coronavirus-outbreak.html\">https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2020\/01\/28\/white-house-discussing-china-travel-restrictions-amid-coronavirus-outbreak.html<\/a><span>.<\/span><\/li>\n<li>Additionally, United Airlines is the first U.S. airline to cancel flights.\u00a0\u00a0United advised today that it would cancel 24 flights between the U.S. and China during the first week of February.<\/li>\n<li>United said it usually operates 12 flights per day from the US to mainland China and Hong Kong.
