Unfortunately, this move created an increase in real estate and labor costs, thus denying our customer the warehouse space to stage components for assembly and integration.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, strict \u201ccopy exact\u201d customer rules made it impractical to replace existing U.S. vendors with Asia-based providers. Therefore, many key components were still sourced from the U.S., adding to our customer\u2019s freight costs. Noatum Logistics was engaged to find creative ways to reduce supply chain costs associated with the Singapore operations.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>[\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row full_width=&#8221;stretch_row_content&#8221; center_row=&#8221;yes&#8221; typo_style=&#8221;light&#8221; bg_type=&#8221;bg_color&#8221; seperator_enable=&#8221;seperator_enable_value&#8221; seperator_type=&#8221;triangle_svg_seperator&#8221; seperator_svg_height=&#8221;35&#8243; el_class=&#8221;redgradientbg&#8221; bg_color_value=&#8221;#dd9933&#8243; css=&#8221;.vc_custom_1583946305078{padding-top: 100px !important;}&#8221;][vc_column][vc_column_text el_class=&#8221;boxwhy hidden&#8221;]<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"text-center\" src=\"https:\/\/www.noatumlogistics.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/strategy-01-1.svg\" alt=\"\" width=\"50\" \/><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"parallax-title text-center\">The strategy<\/h2>\n<p>Noatum Logistics realized we could provide\u00a0the customer\u00a0a one-stop shop for all of their supply chain needs, from origin to destination.<\/p>\n<p>We recognized that we needed to quickly fix their warehouse management process by greatly improving inventory flow as well as\u00a0visibility for better planning and much greater flexibility.[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text el_class=&#8221;boxwhy VinetasRed&#8221;]<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"text-center\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/solution-01-1.svg\" alt=\"\" width=\"60\" height=\"60\" \/><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"parallax-title text-center\">The solution<\/h2>\n<p>Noatum Logistics Singapore created a supplier inventory hub in the free zone at the Singapore Changi Airport. This allowed vendors to stage goods close to the fabrication facility, and let the customer postpone payment of import fees until the goods were pulled for production. With warehouse space now available, vendors could ramp up production, and the customer could shift the transportation mode for large cargo from parcel and airfreight to less costly ocean freight.<\/p>\n<p>In studying the customer\u2019s supplier base, Noatum Logistics discovered multiple vendors were located within a 20-mile radius within the U.S. Noatum Logistics developed a pickup schedule and route, generating a more consistent product flow for vendors, better cash flow for our customer, and lower inland transportation costs. This also allowed Noatum Logistics to consolidate airfreight cargo for better rates and establish a set shipping schedule.<\/p>\n<p>Noatum Logistics adapted its purchase order management system and processes for the customer. This adaptation improved the customer\u2019s visibility and control over shipments, while maintaining compliance with Bureau of Commerce strict export controls on certain components.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row el_class=&#8221;VinetasRed&#8221;][vc_column][vc_raw_html]JTNDaW1nJTIwd2lkdGglM0QlMjI4MHB4JTIyJTIwc3JjJTNEJTIyJTJGd3AtY29udGVudCUyRnVwbG9hZHMlMkYyMDIwJTJGMDMlMkZyZXN1bHQtMDEuc3ZnJTIyJTNF[\/vc_raw_html]<div class=\"zozo-parallax-header\"><div class=\"parallax-header\"><h2 class=\"parallax-title text-center\">The result<\/h2><div class=\"parallax-desc default-style text-center\"><p>By consolidating air shipments, opening a supplier inventory hub in a free zone at Changi Airport in Singapore, and creating a new ocean program, Noatum Logistics saved the customer more than 60 percent in transportation costs.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, the customer was able to retain its existing supplier base and maintain its competitive rates, thus avoiding the lengthy and costly \u201ccopy exact\u201d processes necessary to qualify new vendors.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>[\/vc_column][\/vc_row]<\/p>\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>With a significant segment of the semiconductor wafer foundry base moving to Asia, our customer decided to relocate operations closer to their end user.
